Novartis Oncology is conducting a clinical research study to see if an investigational drug is an effective and safe treatment in people who have brain metastases from non-small cell lung cancer (cancer of the lung that has spread to the brain). The study drug is called patupilone and it belongs to a new class of agents that works by preventing the growth of cancer cells through suppression of microtubule dynamics.
